Nutella Mini Wedges

The other day, I posted a recipe called "Flaky Apple Turnovers"...you may recall that I took the lazy man's route and used this...

...the working woman's (or man's), new best friend...good ole pre-made, store bought, grab out of the freezer and roll "Tenderflake" puff pastry! Since, the recipe made four turnovers, which only used half of the package of dough...I made these nutella mini wedges for Isabel...and me, really!

Now, whip out that second block of frozen dough and let it thaw (again, just until you are able to roll it out...not letting it get too warm)...next, preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Then, on a lightly floured surface, roll the thawed block of dough into a rectangle that is about 10x12". Cut your rectangle of dough into 9, fairly equal squares. Well, maybe only the middle one looks like a square but it will just have to do!

Next...grab that jar of nutella that you have in the cupboard...the one that you may have double dipped into with a soup spoon at 2 am, several nights in a row...

...using a teaspoon (a size down from the one that I used to fill my face with at 2am, several nights in a row), put one heaping spoonful in the centre of each square.

...dip your finger in cold water and run it along 2 of the edges to moisten...this helps seal the dough when you fold the other side over.

Fold over and pinch edges together.

Bake your wedges in your preheated oven for approximately 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up...this dough is like magic!!

Totally up to you, but I sift icing sugar over these once they have cooled slightly, strictly because I really do need to add more sugar to my diet...the puff pastry filled with warm, molten chocolate just isn't enough!

I'll cut down on sugar elsewhere...these are just too good!

These really should be eaten the same day that you make them...James took some in his lunch the day after I made them and he said the day old ones tasted "waxy"...my first instinct was to say "yeah?! Well, why don't you make your own next time?"...but then I thought maybe he has a point?! I'm really shocked that he hasn't thrown in the towel as my taste tester yet!

2. Cut the dough into 9 equal squares and spoon the Nutella onto the centre of each square.

3. Moisten the edges of the dough, fold the dough over to make wedges, pinch edges to seal.
